SCRIPTURE MEMORIZATION EXERCISES

Primary Memory Verses (must memorize completely):


- 1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV-CE): "Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ."
- Romans 5:12 (ESV-CE): "Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned."

Memorization Method For each passage:

  1. Read the verse aloud five times, looking at the text
  2. Cover the text and attempt to recite it from memory
  3. Check yourself against the text
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until you can recite it perfectly
  5. Review each memorized verse daily for one week
  6. After the initial week, review weekly for a month

Application Challenge

For each verse you memorize, write a brief paragraph (3-5 sentences) explaining how this truth applies to your daily life as a Catholic. How might this verse shape your prayer, worship, relationships, or ministry?
